WATER HEATERS

Insufficient or lack of heating
Air Flow Issues
Combustion Problems
Malfunctioning propane supply

Regular maintenance can prevent many common issues. If problems persists, more technical repairs, such as replacing the heating element or control board, may be necessary. In these cases, having a basic understanding of the system or consulting a professional is recommended to avoid further damage.

FURNACES

No Combustion
Insufficient heat or air flow
Cycling on and off
Malfunctioning propane supply

For more complex issues, such as a faulty circuit board or ignition system, professional assistance may be required. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the furnace’s components and ensuring proper airflow, can help prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of the unit.

ABSORPTION REFRIGERATORS

Inadequate cooling
Air flow problems
Power supply problems
Malfunctioning propane or power supply

When diagnosing problems, it’s important to first check the power source to ensure the refrigerator is receiving the correct voltage. Due to these refrigerators complexity, professional repair may be needed. Regular maintenance, like cleaning coils and maintaining a consistent power supply can help prevent many common issues and extend the life of the unit.

AIR CONDITIONERS

An RV air conditioner works by using a refrigeration cycle to cool the interior. The compressor circulates refrigerant, which absorbs heat from inside the RV through an evaporator coil. The cooled air is blown into the cabin, while the refrigerant, now heated, passes through a condenser to release the heat outside. The cycle repeats to keep the air inside the RV cool. Items that impact AC performance:

Lack of air flow across evaporator or condenser coils
Air flow problems due to openings, obstructions or restrictions
Missing or miss-located freeze sense
Environmental such as extreme heat and humidity

Some common maintenance would include keeping the filters and coils clean. Keep condenser coil fins straight, no damage. Ensure the plenum divider is installed properly. At times in high heat or humidity, there is only so much an RV AC unit can do. In this case heat mitigation within the coach is necessary to limit heat infiltration.
